Sunday Video: Ten Years After at Woodstock

Alvin Lee makes some of the best guitar faces I’ve ever seen (and his playin’ ain’t half bad either)…

If you’re a music lover and you’ve never seen Woodstock - 3 Days of Peace & Music, remedy that now (or Netflix it).

  1. my all time favorite driving song - that version - it smokes

  2. amen dan… i can listen to and watch that again & again…

  3. Blues beat, rockabilly medley, danceable, loud-quiet-loud, and thrashing guitar. I think the case can be made that this is the ultimate rock and roll song. Think - what song encapsulates rock more than this?

  4. Definitely a contender, Dan. Hmm, the ultimate R&R song…

This’ll take some thinking. What was Rolling Stone magazin’es top pick last year, “Like a Rolling Stone”? Nahhh. “Satisfaction”? Too predictable.

Ones that just jump into my head are “Tumbling Dice”, “Black Dog”, “Thunder Road” (Bruce has to be represented). This can be debated until the end of time, but I agree with you, this Ten Years After tune has all of the elements…
