I'm finally taking the dive...

"Sam's Town (Abbey Road Version) by The Killers - Sawdust

An acoustic version- makes the Springsteen comparisons that were floating around at the time of the "Sam's Town" release make a little more sense to me

"You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)" by Bruce Springsteen - The River

My random function having fun with me. Two songs with parentheses in the title And presupposing my Springsteen reference above.
I still don't get the comparison.

"Radio Sweetheart" by Elvis Costello - Call It Very Unexpected [Bootleg - Sydney 2/19/1999]

Another Acoustic number. Notable for the speech in the middle of the song where Elvis confesseses that he always imagined doing the song with three female back-up singers and that he knows, deep down inside some of the audience are wearing sequins, satin and lace, and that if those guys want to sing along that would be just great.

"Within You Without You" by Oasis - BBC Sgt. Pepper's 40th Anniversary

Exactly the way you would imagine it.

"To Zion" by Lauren Hill - The Miseducation of...

Thursday I remember thinking... "What ever happened to her?"

Evening in the midwest:

1. The National Anthem of the USSR, as performed by Bolshoi Theatre Choir & Orchestra, Yuri Simonov directing, 1996. It's a stirring piece of music . . . and it's what came up .

2. "Listen to Your Heart" by Little Feat from "Let It Roll," 1988. A not bad track from an ok album from the late version of the group.

3. "Wait It Out" by Tift Merritt from "Tambourine," 2004. She's a great young country-ish rocker!

4. "Give Me Your Love (Love Song)" by Curtis Mayfield from the soundtrack to "Superfly," 1971. Classic stuff.

5. "Poor Man's Dream" by Jimmy LaFave from "Texoma," 2000. Nice country stuff.
