Thankss, didn't know he died. Wow. I got ahold of an old Arhoolie album he did when I was first geting into the blues, all acoustic, and though over the years I heard deeper blues, or wilder blues, I never heard anyting that I return to more often to get a pure shot of real blues. Authentic, brilliant. Desert Island Disc? Might be the first one I grab.

What a musician. Snooks used to say he was musician first, guitar player second. I never saw him live. If there is anyting good in this universe, he will rest in peace.

Great writeup Cove... another criminally under-appreciated musician. That "Red Beans"video is out of this world... Snooks'right hand shaking and flailing, and somehow those amazing rhythms and solos make their way out. Amazing! How lucky you are to have seen him all those times.
