It's a Friday Five I'm NOT proud of.

1. Wildbirds & Peacedrums - "I Can't Tell in His Eyes" from "Heartcore" (2008?) I got this from some music blog last year, and I have not warmed up to it.

2. Dignan "Tangled Woods" I wasn't even sure where I had gotten this from at first, but it turns out it was a Paste download for making a donation. Darned if I can remember it, though.

3. Rockpile - "Fool Too Long" from "Seconds of Pleasure" (1980) The best song of this bunch. This is a special version that a friend gave me that has a bunch of scans of the lyric booklet and lyrics embedded in the song file.

4. Leeroy Stagger - "I Break Hearts" from "Tales From the Back Porch" (2005) I normally like Leeroy Stagger. Don't like this song much, though.

5. Jay-Z and Linkin Park - "Izzo/In the End" from "Collision Course" (2004) I'm afraid that any attempt to explain this one is going to sound really lame. The real reason I have this in my iTunes IS pretty lame. I've been trying to learn more about hip-hop for at least the past 20 years. I have a great appreciation for the genre, but not much of a liking, unfortunately. When somebody left part of his hip-hop collection on the server at a place where I was freelancing, I thought I'd "borrow" it so I could listen to it at home, and maybe learn something. Jay-Z, however, is just not my cup of tea, and Linkin Park REALLY is not my thing. But I'm hanging onto it. Maybe someday I'll grow to love it.

A rarity: I have time to post my five today!

Crazy Love-Allman Brothers Band, from "Dreams" Not one of their best, but a good song.
Unsettled-Robyn Hitchcock from "Globe of Frogs" I am not a huge Hitchock fan, but this is a really fun song.
How Long-Dire Straits "On Every Street." One of my absolute favorite bands. Not one of their better known songs, but still great.
Cinturita-Various Artists "Salsa Cubana" I grew up in South Florida, and I love Cuban music. This is an infectious salsa number, as the name states.
I'll Never Play Jacksonville Again-Graham Parker "Deepcut to Nowhere" What an incredibl song from one of power punks greatest artists. GP is the bomb, as they say.
