Acoustic

Grandaddy at Good Records

Jason Lytle at Good Records

Last Tuesday, the great Modesto, Calif. band Grandaddy released their final album, ‘Just Like the Fambly Cat‘. I first discovered Grandaddy when I heard ‘The Sophtware Slump‘ in 2000, a collection of dreamy, gentle, electro-space-pop with awesome songs (and song titles) like “Broken Household Appliance National Forest”, “Jed The Humanoid”, “Chartsengrafs”, and “The Crystal Lake”.

So last Tuesday, singer/guitarist/keyboardman Jason Lytle and drummer Aaron Burtch got together at Good Records in Dallas for a full set of Grandaddy acoustic goodness.

i was wondering how these little shows were going, thanks for posting this. I have to wonder, why are there always people who feel they are so important that they have to talk through the entire set? why are you there? go outside.. I wish i could have been there to listen. And how about the “funny” loud guy who has to yell stupid stuff throughout. (detroit rock city? wow fuuuny.track 24) Was he trying to impress his girlfriend or something? anyhow, had to vent ..i don’t get it. once again , thank you for posting these songs! >R

I think it’s lame that you would remove you links to the songs from the Good Records last show featuring Aaron and Jason. I mean they are not going to be hurt in the record sales department because of a crumby recording. Don’t take yourself so seriously. And on top of that have a link to Amazon.com to buy music from Grandaddy. Jeez!

Here’s a link to Insound.com that was forwarded to my by grandaddylandscape.com. You can buy Aaron’s T-Shirt as well as the Grandaddy discography.

Crutch – – Wow. Dissent among the ranks!

Yeah that’s what it is, taking myself seriously. You hit it dead on. If you read my little note, on the sidebar, I say I keep my files posted for about a week. There are a lot of reasons for this, one of them being trying to save bandwidth. Posting a whole show like this takes up a lot of friggin’ bandwidth. A lot of bandwidth = a lot of money. If you want me to keep these posted longer, hit the donate button on the sidebar and help me afford more bandwidth. Even better, donate a whole bunch of money and I’ll quit my day job! That would be sweet.

    >>>You also wrote: “And on top of that have a link to Amazon.com to buy music from Grandaddy. Jeez!”

Ehhh, so what? There’s a link if you want to buy their music. What difference does it make?

Relax… This is my web site. I’ll do what I want with it. Start your own site and you can do all those neat things you think aren’t “lame”.
