One Week til Super Bowl Prince

One week to go until Prince does it Super Bowl style. Rumors so far have the Florida A&M University ‘Marching 100′ marching band involved somehow. If you caught the Grammys last year, it’s the same marching band that played with Kanye West. Also in the rumor mill is that Prince will be paying tribute to James Brown in some fashion.
So you may want to check out my Prince forum for a cool little contest I just set up for the big day. Ickmusic / Prince Super Bowl Contest. You’ll need to register if you want to participate.
And as far as I can tell, this is the only Prince song with “Super” in the title. A Black Album classic, extended for your listening pleasure.

There’s another Prince song with Super in it — “Super Hero,” which he demoed and gave to Earth, Wind, and Fire. Oh, and “Super Rain.”

Kenneth – I already emailed you with my normal grovel (“can i hear them, pleease?”). .. but I looked up “Super Hero” on All Music.com, and it shows Ian Prince as the composer. It may have been a pseudonym for Prince, but I also show a Ian Prince that was a apparently a Quincy Jones protege.

“Super Hero” is definitely “our” Prince. If I recall, it was slated for Exodus – not sure if there’s a version with Prince taking lead vox. I can upload it to the forum later tonight if people are interested.

“Supercute” is a track from 2002, I believe, that was available thru the NPG website. In a perfect world, this would have been Prince’s comeback. It is as perfect as a pop tune gets. I’d be happy to share the tune, if you need it.
